Our 11th St. John Fisher Visitor is Robert Cardinal Sarah, Vatican Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments. Cardinal Sarah’s recent books, God or Nothing (2015) and The Power of Silence (2016), have blessed many Catholics seeking a way to encounter God in the busyness of modern life. Cardinal Sarah’s own life story is a fascinating drama of conversion and combat against tyranny in his native Guinea.
What is the St. John Fisher Dinner?
The St. John Fisher Dinner is an annual fundraiser for Catholic Christian Outreach. Proceeds from the event support the efforts of our staff and student missionaries at Queen’s University. The dinner, now in its 11th year, has attracted interesting Catholic speakers from around the world, including Archbishop Terrence Prendergast, Bishop Borys Gudziak, George Weigel, Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Joseph Cardinal Zen, Oswald Cardinal Gracias, Thomas Cardinal Collins, William Cardinal Levada, and George Cardinal Pell. It has become one of Canada’s premier Catholic dinners.
This year, guests will receive a copy of Cardinal Sarah's book, God or Nothing.
