By André Regnier "The moment has come” These words of Blessed John Paul II came to mind when Pope Benedict XVI announced the upcoming synod on the new evangelization.  I was filled with anticipation and hope that the Church would embrace her missionary nature. Today, we need this virtue of hope, which has been described as a buoy keeping our head above water in the midst of a storm. Cardinal Wuerl Archbishop of Washington, D.C opened up the Synod with a reference to a storm, “It’s as if a tsunami of secularism has washed across the Western world. And as...

By André Regnier This morning I was captured by the beauty and power of the Gospel.  All is rubbish compared to the knowledge of Christ.  I pray that my motivation and my desire would always come from this place of knowledge. Unfortunately often my desires are disordered, leading me to be captured by something other then Christ.  My fear going to Rome is that I will be intent on seeking recognition and acknowledgement for all that we do in CCO.   Worse, that I will be envious of those in the Church that are being recognized and acknowledged for what they are doing....

By André Regnier While at dinner with Archbishop Lacroix the other night, he looked me in the eye and he said with great conviction, “Now is the time for the new evangelization”.  He meant right now, not later.  Today I saw the Archbishop in the synod hall moving around comfortably with all his brother bishops from around the world. by Kendra Chisolm Last may, my friend updated her Facebook status, expressing her frustration towards a law regarding contraception and religious convictions. I immediately, and passionately, typed a lengthy paragraph addressing the issue in a way that I thought was logical, in hopes that she would see truth in what I said. Instead, however, my words sparked a hate-filled debate where I was ridiculed for my “crazy beliefs”. I chose not to further the conversation, but already two of my close friends, women who I’ve been praying for, had disagreed with me as well. I’d let myself get carried away,...

by Angele Regnier CCO is very proud to announce the public release of our online interactive training for the Discovery faith study! We believe this is one of the biggest things CCO has offered the Church to equip others to engage in the New Evangelization. Thousands have taken Discovery on university campuses across Canada, and an increasing number of people, both young and old, are leading the study in their homes with their friends. More and more parishes are using it as a tool for evangelization, especially with the Church’s recent focus on the New Evangelization since the Synod and...
